What Is a TF-IDF Score?

TD-IDF or term frequency-inverse document frequency is a Google algorithm used to score and rank a piece of content’s relevance to any given search query

It is used to check how many times a keyword appears in a document and allocate importance to that keyword, based on the number of times it appears in the document. It also checks how relevant that keyword is across the web.

The higher a TF-IDF score, the rarer the rated term is.

Use a platform like Ryte to analyse your site’s web pages for your chosen keywords as well as calculate your TF-IDF score.

Compare these high TF-IDF scores with their search volumes across the web. Choose target keywords with low competition and high search volumes.

As opposed to simple keyword research which reveals what terms users are searching for, a TF-IDF search uncovers lists of words that are semantically related to your keyword.

These results are also a handy way of comparing your content to the competitors.

If you base your content around these words following this research, your web pages will likely perform well in SERPs.
